Recognised by the International Dark-Sky Association for its exceptional lack of light pollution, Sternpark Westhavelland is the perfect place for those in search of shooting stars. It’s one of just three internationally recognised dark sky regions in Germany, and in addition to its clear horizons, it benefits from utter peace and quiet. Fields and forests stretch out for kilometres, and unspoilt rivers meander through the greenery.
At the heart of the nature park is Stargazing Glamping Getaway, a boho collection of yurts and mini-cabins, ideally located to laze as the sky lights up with stars while not sacrificing life’s little luxuries like a comfortable bed or hot running water. After just one night away, we felt the weight of our city stress slip off thanks to the fresh air and melodic bird song. Sipping coffee - freshly prepared by the organic store as part of their breakfast basket - in a hammock overlooking nothing but green is how we wish we could start every day, and curled up by a roaring fire, watching the stars begin to appear and twinkle in the sky, is how we wish we could end every day.
